Greenview Today

Today, Greenview Farms is a diversified farm comprised of 3500 acres. We continue to raise Polled Hereford cattle and F1 Brafords. Our decision to cross approximately one half of our cow herd with red Brahman bulls has proved to be an asset to our operation. More recently, we have added Grey Brahman bulls which mostly comprise our bull inventory today. For a number of years, we have been the second largest register of Brafords in the United States. Our goal at Greenview is to produce quality cattle in a sustainable environment.

Along with our cattle operation, we produce horse-quality Bermuda hay. It is then shipped across the southeast from Georgia to Texas and also produce other forages for baleage. We have worked with the University of Georgia through a SARE Grant to obtain performance data. This helps us better understand the value of high quality annuals for forage.

Greenview’s 3500 acres is divided almost equally between pastures, timber and row crops which include cotton, corn, peanuts and soybeans. Our cattle operation, row crops and timber land all work together to enhance one another.

For the past 150 years, Greenview Farms has been built on hard work, determination, a love for the land and environment and the belief that if you take care of the land, it will take care of you. Today we are still guided by these principles and strive to maintain and improve the land that we have been blessed to care for. Greenview continues to be a family operation with each member contributing in some way.
