“Greenview Farms and Mr. Jonny Harris have been a great educational asset for our Diversified Agriculture and Animal Science degree programs at ABAC. On multiple occasions, our students have visited with Mr. Jonny at Greenview Farms because it is a perfect example of how a row crop, timber and cattle operation can co-exist and complement each other in terms of resource utilization. We are also using bulls from Greenview Farms in the ABAC Beef Herd so that our students can be exposed to genetics that – by reputation and experience – we know work well in a southeastern commercial cow-calf, heavy forage based cattle program.”

One of the opportunities we have at Greenview Farms is to open our farm and facilities to visitors. Through the years we have hosted various tours and demonstrations to showcase our operation and serve as an outdoor classroom for those interested in agriculture. Some of these events include:
Uruguay Cattlemen /University of Georgia Farm Tour
National Cooperative Extension County Agent Farm Tour
Southeast Georgia Beef Cattle Field Day
University of Georgia Veterinary Students
Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College Diversified Agriculture Students
University of Florida Livestock Judging Team
Assist University of Georgia with Producer Crop Trials
Herd Health Management Clinic
FFA Forestry Field Day State Competition
In addition to helping promote the beef industry at home, we also take advantage of opportunities to speak on behalf of agriculture away from the farm to help remind those outside of agriculture that America produces the safest, most economical food supply in the world.
